Restaurant Review: World Cut Steakhouse in Al Habtoor Palace

Planning to visit a steakhouse for business meetings, special occasions, or simply to gather family and friends? Located inside Al Habtoor Palace, World Cut Steakhouse offers a sophisticated collection of American steakhouse classics. With its old worldly feel, leather interior, and classical piano you could be transported to a high-end American steak restaurant from the 1930s.

This comfortable, classy restaurant features a 12-seater private dining suite to entertain clients or to enjoy a more intimate gathering with an extensive menu ranging from small entrées to luxurious classic steaks served right out of the grill: rare, medium, or well-done.

I was lucky to be there on ‘Tomhawk Tuesday’ which delivers an amazing meal for two. We were spoilt for choice on the appetisers and salads and were quite conscious of what was ahead of us so we were happy to ease our way in with a mushroom soup (toasted brioche and cheese foam) for me and a crispy baby calamari starter for my partner.

Guests can savour an unparalleled array of a 1.4 kilogram mouthwatering Tomahawk cuts grilled with the bone where the rich flavours of the marrow seep into the meat enhancing the juiciness of the steak! Served with selections of appetisers and desserts to share accompanied by live entertainment.

The Tomahawk was presented to us at the table and carved in front of us, which was a great form of entertainment and food jealousy for others. The steak came with sauteed mushrooms and potato gratin, and an assortment of sauces (chimichurri, peppercorn and Bearnaise).

This is a meal to be enjoyed and not a place to go to if you are in a rush, so if you have booked tickets for the La Perle, I highly recommend you book your reservation right after the show. After a well-earned break, we were able to find space for a dessert. You can indulge in some exceptional world-famous meat specialties whilst listening to the talented pianist who entertained us all.

Featuring the best quality ingredients grown in the farms of the Northern Emirates with unique flavours and special in-house condiments, guests can choose from six different kinds of mustard – honey, gingerbread, spicy mustard with Thai chili, wholegrain, green pepper, and the classic Dijon. The extravagant menu includes thinly sliced Wagyu beef carpaccio, deliciously marinated pan-grilled lobster and a grilled to perfection 560-gram bone-in rib-eye with the choice of blue cheese sauce, black pepper sauce, and mushroom sauce.

Besides the food, it is a perfect place to unwind, sit back and take your time as you drink in the atmosphere and prepare for the obvious meat coma coming your way.
