How are networking solutions enabling companies to become more sustainable?

Networking solutions play a major role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions as energy consumption rises in response to increasing digitalisation.

Progressive vendors are finding new and innovative ways to create full-stack solutions that significantly reduce power consumption, keep systems cool without using excessive energy, and increase the lifecycle of components within the data centre through hardware design and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technologies.

For instance, we recently announced the Cloud Metro solution that is AI-enabled, cloud-delivered, and integrated with zero trust security and active assurance testing and monitoring. The solution delivers future-proof performance while lowering power consumption by up to 77 per cent and reducing device onboarding time from hours to minutes.

Share with us your outlook on the region’s ability to embrace cloud technology

A report by Blueweave Consulting stated that the cloud market in the Middle East is expected to reach $9.8bn by 2027. This is an indication that cloud technology is being increasingly adopted in the Middle East.

There are several factors that have contributed to this demand. One of the main drivers is the growth in digitisation of businesses and government services in the region. As more organisations move their operations online, they are turning to cloud solutions to support their digital transformation efforts. Another factor is the growing availability of cloud services and infrastructure in the region.

In addition, many governments in the region have launched various initiatives to promote the adoption of cloud technology. For example, the UAE government has launched the “Cloud First” policy, which requires government entities to prioritise cloud solutions when procuring IT services. Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region too have similar initiatives.

However, there are still some challenges to cloud adoption in the Middle East, such as concerns around data privacy and security, lack of skills and expertise, and regulatory barriers. These issues are gradually being addressed through the development of local talent, the establishment of data protection laws, and the introduction of more flexible regulations around cloud services.

Overall, the Middle East region has shown a strong ability to embrace cloud technology, and this trend is expected to continue in the coming years.

Is Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure future-ready to adopt advanced technology across business sectors?

The government of Saudi Arabia has developed five-year plan which includes modernising infrastructure and boosting economic growth. The country has invested heavily in developing its transportation infrastructure, including building new airports, seaports, highways and expanding its rail network.

Furthermore, the government has also taken steps to enhance its digital infrastructure and promote the adoption of advanced technology across various business sectors, such as finance, healthcare and education. For instance, the Ministry of Health has launched the e-Health programme to improve healthcare services and enhance patient experience.

What are your plans for the year ahead for Saudi and the Middle East?

As Saudi Arabia and the other countries in the Middle East move ahead in their transformation journey, we will continue to invest in the development of new technologies and solutions to meet the changing needs of customers.
